Kate Heiberg joined the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund in November of 2007 as the Program Officer. A 2003 graduate of the George Washington University, with a B.A. in Human Services, Kate started her career in development at The Center for Arts Education (CAE) in New York. Kate spent a year after CAE working in event production on various non-profit events, including large scale conferences and gala dinners, and fundraising videos before joining The Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) in 2006 as their Development and Communications Associate. While at BHS she was instrumental in helping to launch and manage The Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable fundraising event, in addition responsibilities included grant writing, reporting, communication collateral and web content.

Gail B. Nayowith joined the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund as founding Executive Director in the fall of 2007 after leading, Citizens' Committee for Children of New York for 15 years. She is a leader in the field of child and family policy and in the design and operations of government and non-profit human service programs. Among other appointments, Ms. Nayowith serves on the Board of Directors of the Marion E. Kenworthy/Sarah H. Swift Foundation; is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, serves on the Fordham University School of Law Feerick Center for Social Justice and Dispute Resolution Board of Advisors and sits on the New York Women's Foundation Advisory Committee on Women's Poverty. She was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to the Commission on Economic Opportunity where she co-chaired with Dr. J. Lawrence Aber the Data and Evaluation Workgroup. Ms. Nayowith is a frequently called upon public speaker, content expert and opinion leader by state and local government, the New York City press corps, and civic and professional organizations.
