Artistic Noise

Good Neighbor Grant

Artistic Noise is an arts and entrepreneurship program for youth involved in the juvenile justice system. It empowers youth who are either incarcerated or recently released through opportunities for mentorship, responsibility, and expression through visual arts. Their stories are shared with the broader community, which increases dialogue around tough issues faced by teens and instills a sense of pride that participants and graduates of the program use to reintegrate into their communities.

The Illumination Fund's general operating support has helped Artistic Noise to serve 428 individuals between 14 and 21 New York and have 3 active job readiness training programs in the Bronx and Brooklyn. The foundation also hosted an exhibition of works in 2009.
